Last Saturday, Andrew Tay and Sasha Kleinplatz from Wants&Needs Danse curated their second edition of Involved: a series of pieces that question the relationship between choreographer, performer and audience. In other words, the audience was asked to participate in various ways throughout the show. At some instances humorous and at others contemplative, the highlight of the night in my opinion was Tay’s experiment involving a physical separation between the audience and the performance by use of a transparent membrane, a rather beautiful play on light, shadow, textures and reflections.
