Inspirational Commercial Work

In the 90s Austrian artist, Erwin Wurm, shot a commercial series of photographs for Palmers, a lingerie brand.

Being back in school (for my last year), these images scream "analyze my connotative meanings! my signifier and signified!", but I will refrain from doing so - at least for the time being. All this to say these images are incredibly effective however which way you interpret them, so loaded. I love them.

The Rützou Chronicle

A friend of mine was in Stockholm last month and brought me back a copy of this gorgeous biannual publication - The Chronicle. Bound with wax, the pages can be detached easily and used for other purposes.

Some of London sculptor Rebecca Stevenson's work. Her pieces bring a strong visual to the idea of "beautiful decay". I especially fancy Pastorale and Narcissus. Not crazy about the sculptures being made of wax. At first glance I assumed they were of stone and somehow find that would have been even more striking, but love the end result none the less.

Moomin Dishes

As a child, aside from old Chinese tales about monkey kings and nightingales, my father would read me this Swedish series called The Moomins. This was the name of a troll family who lived in Moominvalley, deep in the forests of Finland. They were the favorites of my childhood. Anyone who has not read any of the books should look into it.

I just came across these today and immediately got flooded with memories. I plan on getting the entire set via Present-London.
